Storing at a lower temperature will decrease the natural/self discharge of a battery, but generally it is not recommended since the high humidity levels inside of the refrigerator can cause the battery cell container and terminals to rust. If you currently have batteries stored in a refrigerator, be sure to allow them to warm up to room temperature before using them in your device.
